For me the only relevant realm after death is still the one here on earth. My consciousness will be gone, and my body will rot or burn. I have no magical fantasies of anything beyond that, and thus no "Choice" to make.
We are nothing but animals, a species of apes whom evolution granted a bit more cognitive power than others. What makes us special is that this grey matter made it possible for us to develop and effectively pass on ideas and concepts, solve problems, start a new evolution, one of technology and knowledge that other animals could not understand. If it had not been for us, maybe another species would have gained this power in the few billions of years that earth will continue to exist. Maybe they still will, if (or rather when) our species goes extinct.
Of course we not only invented technology, but also religions and ideologies... ideally to help us cope with the meaning of life. (Which is an illusion and does not exist.) But in many cases these ideologies and religions are used and abused to spread fear and gain power over others. Which is natural and to be expected in the light of natural selection and survival of the fittest.
The important thing for me is what mark my life will have left in this world, for the people of my time and the generations to follow. The genes and knowledge, ideas and values I passed on will stay part of life and society.
This blog and all the images and texts I produce will continue to swarm through the net. But, compared to my "real life" and its legacy, they are meaningless. They are just stupid fantasies. Like heaven or hell.
